Discussion of plans for training Vietnamese specialists in CICE&T in 2013

On 17 December CICE&T hosted the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam headed by Mr LE Quang Hiep, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS). The purpose of this visit was reviewing the training of Vietnam specialists in 2012 and discussing the training plans for 2013. It was organized by Department of International Relations of Rosatom in response to the request of the Vietnam side and in compliance with the practical arrangements singed on 05.06.2012 between MOST and State Corporation “Rosatom” with respect to personnel training during 2012-2015. Two groups of MOST staff have already been trained in the framework of these arrangements. The first group of 10 persons from MOST was trained during 4 months on the basic course of nuclear technologies. The second group undertook the 4 week long course “Safety analysis using analytical simulators”. Both groups finished their training on 14 December and left for Vietnam. The meeting with the Vietnamese delegation was attended by International Center for Personnel Training of CICE&T (Prof.Artisyuk, Mr.Kritsky), representatives of the Scientific and Engineering Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (Dr.Mistryugov) under Rostechnadzor (training was made possible by cooperation of these two organizations), the HRD Department of “Rosatom” (Ms.Nagibina) and the CJSC “Rusatom Overseas” (Vice-President, Dr. Sokolov). The Vietnam side expressed its satisfaction with the training results of 2012 and suggested that the courses be also conducted in 2013 for further instruction on VVER technology safety.
