On May 30 – June 2, 2017 a group of instructors from ROSATOM-CICE&T participated in a training course «Simulation of different NPPs operation», organized by the Czech Technical University in Prague within the framework of cooperation between European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) and ROSATOM-CICE&T (under the project “Strengthening of Cooperation and Exchange for Nuclear Education and Training between the European Union and the Russian Federation, ENEN-RU II“).
The course was aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchange of experience between ROSATOM-CICE&T and the Czech Technical University in training of NPP personnel and nuclear engineers. The training was conducted at Department of Nuclear Reactors and started with a welcome speech from Mr. Jan Rataj (deputy head of the department). A guidance of the training was provided by Mr. Martin Kropik, Mr. Dusan Kobylka.
During a practice part of the course the trainees had an opportunity to work out various exercises on computer-based NPP simulators of various reactor designs: VVER-440, ABWR and CANDU 6, under several operation conditions. A special attention was given to the VVER-440 NPP simulator, the same type as used for training of NPP personnel and nuclear professionals.
As a technical tour the participants visited a VR-1 research reactor used for international and domestic studies of students and professionals and explored the facilities of Czech Technical University.
Such exchange of experience with European partners is essential for harmonization of education and training offers in the view of ROSATOM-CICE&T’s projects on NPP personnel training for European countries (case of Finland link link link).
