Russian Contribution to the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme

The international conference on the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme: Sixty Years and Beyond – Contributing to Development was held 30 May – 01 June in the International Atomic Energy Agency headquarter, Vienna, Austria. The conference was attended by more than 1,200 representatives from more than 120 countries. At the opening of the conference the IAEA Director General Mr. Yukiya Amano made a speech. Within the framework of international conference the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM organized a special exhibition booth to demonstrate experience and participation in the IAEA technical cooperation programmes.

ROSATOM CENTRAL INSTITUTE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING (ROSATOM-CICE&T) along with the Russian State Research Center – Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of Federal Medical Biological Agency of Russia, Federal state budgetary institution “Russian Oncological Scientific Center named after N.N.Blokhin” was presented at the exhibition. The ROSATOM-CICE&T regularly conducts the IAEA Regional Training Courses on Remediation of the Areas Affected by Uranium Mining (since 2014) and Regional Training Course the Infrastructure Development and Safety Assessment of WWER/PWR (since 2016). In 2017 the Russian Federation made an extrabudgetary contribution to the IAEA aimed at development of nuclear infrastructure in embarking states. Based on this contribution during 2017 year six Training Courses will be conducted. Four of these Training Courses will be conducted by ROSATOM-CICE&T. The Plans and status of preparation for new international Training Courses were presented to the IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation Mr. Dazhu Yang who visited the exhibition booth of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM.
