A pilot module of an extended NPP Hanhikivi-1 Basic Plant Course, aimed at improving the competencies of engineering personnel, started on the 30th of January 2017 in Finland. During the week more than 20 employees of the operating organization Fennovoima Oy obtained knowledge on the main features of AES-2006 technology. The course which includes the general information about project activities in Russia, general information about AES-2006, construction and electrical engineering parts of the project, safety of nuclear power reactors issues, NPP technological systems etc., was developed by ROSATOM-CICE&T in cooperation with the NPP general supplier RAOS Project Oy and integrator of service offers for foreign personnel training JSC “Rusatom Service”, as well as with specialists of JSC “Atomproekt” and ASE Group of Companies.
Currently the project for the Hanhikivi-1 personnel training is implemented within a contract providing training on the “Basic Plant Course. Part I and Part II” for all personnel of the operating organization. In the future, these specialists will take positions at the NPP Hanhikivi-1. The implementation of the Basic Plant Course is the first step in the personnel training process, which should be completed by the beginning of pre-commissioning works. ROSATOM-CICE&T, as the service provider, fulfils its obligations in accordance with the schedule approved with the Customer. The collaboration on a project is aimed at successful implementation of the personnel training, the volume of which will increase from year to year. The Hanhikivi-1 start-up is coming. This entails both the operating personnel training for the new power unit as well as construction and commissioning of full-scale simulator. Addressing other important tasks to ensure a high level of personnel training is an essential condition for successful and safe NPP operation and the highest standards of safety culture conformity.
